$200 Million MMO Drops Jaws

Bioware marked a new chapter in the history of MMO games with the legendary Star Wars. The latest game unleashed by the makers took an extended period of 5 years. What’s even more striking about the game is that it is estimated to have a whooping costing of $200 million. However, Electronic Arts and LucasArts have been in partnership ties with Bioware in pulling down this immense feat. Star Wars: The Old Republic was also a product of the joint venture of these three iconic companies. According to the spokesperson of Bioware, the company has taken a massive gamble in investing in one of the most prized intellectual properties in the gaming world.

There has been prior instances where such ventures have flopped back. One such exemplary instance is the endeavour made by Internet Chatter that attempted to develop a game that can mark the end of the popularity of World of Warcraft. However, a launch date for the game was announced, but it never saw the light of the day. However, the reviews for the game were some of the greatest to be ever published for any MMO. However, the reason why it was never released is because the players were not yet ready for another subscription-based version of Star Wars.

However, this release is sure to cause hiccups among readers because of its jaw-dropping  figure of costing. While Bioware has proudly announced its eye-popping cost, game loyalists are awaiting with pulsating anticipation for the launch of the game.
